HMIs with multi-touch function and gesture control - GOT2000 series (available from March 2014)

Mitsubishi Electric has raised the bar for HMIs with the new GOT2000 series, designed to optimise operator control and monitoring of device and line status. With vastly increased performance, advanced functions, seamless connectivity to other automation devices and highly intuitive, tablet-like operation* and the highest quality graphics, the new GOT2000 series provides a range of models and sizes to meet the needs of the broadest spread of applications. With their enhanced functionality, these new HMIs extend capabilities beyond monitoring and visualisation, providing additional features that will help to reduce downtime, enable fast recovery from simple errors, increase availability and boost production efficiency.

More than simply displaying data, these enhanced HMIs deliver genuine perspective on the automation process and provide a platform to solve the typical production problems that drive down OEE.

A comprehensive line-up of products provides screen sizes from 8.4” up to 15” (to be expanded to include from 3.7” up to 19” in the future) in two basic ranges: the GT27 for high end applications that demand the highest levels of performance and functionality; and the GT23 for cost-sensitive applications that can now benefit from new benchmark performance standards. In addition, a software HMI version, the GT SoftGOT2000, realises all of the GOT2000 features on a PC or panel computer.

Maximum drive performance for plant and machinery – FR-A800 frequency inverter series (available from April 2014)

Designed for unparalleled drive precision, speed control, simple startup, and versatility, Mitsubishi Electric has developed a new generation of drive technology: the remarkable FR-A800. This new drive series is the successor of the highly successful FR-A700 series. It is equipped with the new state-of-the art high-speed processor by Mitsubishi Electric. With better than ever control performance and response level, safe and accurate operation is assured in a diverse range of applications. Some of the outstanding features are the integrated USB port for programming and parameter copying, an-easy to-read control panel, optimum power usage and energy saving functions, improved system safety, three expansion slots for a range of option and supported network cards.

With it’s impressive versatility to meet equipment system needs ranging from machining and molding to winding, the FR-A800 is a extremely economical and highly-versatile solution for a wide range of applications.

The FR-A800 series is fully backwards compatible with the FR-A700 series. Parameters can be easily copied by FR Configurator2. In order to match the former machine response time, the input/output signals of the FR-A800 can be delayed.

The next generation iQ Platform – iQ-R (available from 3rd quarter 2014)

Mitsubishi Electric has launched its next generation CPU for the iQ Platform programmable automation controller (PAC). The new iQ-R series CPU offers dramatic improvements in performance, setting new benchmark standards for processing speed. This not only enables users to realise enhanced system designs, but also provides the basis for significant reduction in hardware costs. At the same time, the new iQ-R series offers reductions in development cost, maintenance cost and risk of system failure, while providing an innovative upgrade path that will enable users to take advantage of ongoing developments through software upgrades rather than hardware upgrades.
